An XLPE cable has insulation made from Cross-Linked Polyethylene, a highly durable thermosetting polymer created by chemically bonding polyethylene molecules. This process gives the material a stable, three-dimensional structure that greatly enhances its resistance to heat and pressure, making XLPE cables suitable for high-temperature applications and harsh environments where standard plastic would soften or melt.
